Presley is best known for her wedding to Elvis Presley and her roles in “The Naked Gun” trilogy and “Dallas.” Priscilla Presley formed Elvis Presley Enterprises in 1981 and ran it until the late 1980s. Presley is also a published author, and her memoir, “Elvis and Me: The True Story of Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N’ Roll,” was a “New York Times” bestseller in 1985.

Regarding her childhood

On May 24, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Priscilla Ann Wagner was born. Her mother, Ann, gave birth to Priscilla when she was 19 years old, and her mother, James (a Navy pilot), died in a plane crash when she was only 6 months old. In 1948, Ann married Air Force officer Paul Beaulieu, and Priscilla started using his surname rather than Wagner’s. Because of Beaulieu’s Air Force career, the family had moved every few years, so Presley grew up in Connecticut, New Mexico, Maine, and Texas. In 1956, Paul was transmitted to Germany, where Priscilla met Elvis Presley, who was serving in the Army at the time.

Priscilla met Elvis at a party at his Bad Nauheim home in September 1959. Her parents were not thrilled with the prospect of a relationship between 24-year-old Elvis and 14-year-old Priscilla, but Presley won people over when he arrived at their residence in full uniform. Elvis left West Germany in March 1960 and maintained phone contact with Priscilla until she was able to visit him in Los Angeles in 1962.

Priscilla moved to Memphis

In March 1963, Priscilla relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, to finish high school at Immaculate Conception High School and live with Elvis’ father and stepmother a few blocks from Graceland. Priscilla desired to visit Elvis while he was continuing to work in Hollywood, but he told her to stay in Memphis.

Priscilla and Elvis married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, in an 8-minute wedding, and their daughter Lisa Marie was born on February 1, 1968. Priscilla began taking private dance lessons in 1968 and had an affair with her instructor, which she honors by making her recognize she wasn’t obtaining enough out of her marriage.
