Who hit the Royal titles? Is it for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and were not the ones for the royal family to inherit new titles. In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties. Their three years old sons, Archie Harrison and 15-month-old Diana, are entitled to be prince and princess. King Charles III ascended the throne as the Queen’s heir, and their father moved up in the line of succession. 

Royal titles to grandchildren!

As grandchildren of King Charles III, Archie and Lilibet have the right to be princes and princesses. The children of Harry and Meghan become his Royal Highness Prince Archie of Sussex and Royal Highness Princess Lilibet of Sussex. In 1971, guidelines set forth by Harry’s great-grand-grandfather, King George V, permitted royal titles to be given to children of the sovereign’s sons.

When the Queen was in power, Harry’s children were her great-grandchildren. King Charles has taken the throne, and Harry’s are officially grandchildren to the monarch. 

What about and ?

A new guideline was passed ten years ago where William’s children had their titles. In 2012, Queen Elizabeth changed the rule where the Prince of Wales’s eldest son would receive the royal titles. She allowed his younger kids with Kate to be called Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, still her majesty alive.

In May 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan were married; the Queen gave them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The couple announced they had not given him a courtesy title, and he would be known as Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. In 2021, an interview with the Duchess of Sussex revealed a conversation about titles ahead of Archie’s birth.

Meghan said, ‘They were saying they did not want him to be a prince or princess, which would be different from protocol, and he would not receive security. At present, Harry is fifth in the line of the throne, whereas Archie and Lili are sixth and seventh.
