Mark Ruffalo teased the scope and impact of Avengers: Secret Wars, the upcoming Avengers film. As part of an interview with ET at the premiere of the Disney+ series She-Hulk Attorney at Law, in which Ruffalo reprises Bruce Banner's role, the actor said Avengers: Secret Wars will surpass Avengers: Endgame as a blockbuster epic delight, and is convinced the MCU movie will be “amazing.”
While Ruffalo was careful not to reveal any spoilers (he has made mistakes in the past), he is confident that Kevin Feige and the studio will be able to outdo Avengers: Endgame. Even though it may seem impossible, Avengers: Endgame was a fitting end to the MCU after all, anyone who knows the background of Avengers: Secret Wars will already recognize the cinematic splendor to come.
Secret Wars has appeared in Marvel Comics twice, but let's assume the adaptation will take inspiration from the most recent edition. It was written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by Esad Ribi, and published in 2015. The book depicts the Earths of each universe collaborating on ’Battleworld,’ earth that represents all aspects of them.
Battleworld, designed by Doctor Doom, contains elements of multiple universes and heroes and villains from a variety of different universes, making it a fitting end to the Multiverse Saga of the MCU. Can it top Avengers: Endgame? It was unclear when the Avengers would once again assemble following Avengers: Endgame, but Marvel Studios has now announced not one but two Avengers sequels.
As announced at San Diego Comic-Con back in July, the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty film will be directed by Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton. Jonathan Majors will return as Kang the Conqueror, whose vision will no doubt be to end the world, though little is known about its direction. The upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will feature Kang's big-screen debut.
Whoever survives the conquest of Kang will probably appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, details of which remain unknown. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be released on May 2, 2025, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on November 7, 2025. Ruffalo will next star in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which will premiere on Disney+ on August 18, 2022.
