Another Jurassic era has ended with Jurassic World Dominion, one of 2022's biggest hits. Despite this, you haven't seen all the movie has to offer. The extended version of Dominion is now available for purchase, and director Colin Trevorrow has made it clear which version he prefers.
Jurassic World Dominion ran for 2 hours and 27 minutes at the box office, despite audience and critic disagreements on its quality. According to Colin Trevorrow's new post promoting the extended edition of his movie:
The Jurassic World Dominion director is a lot more into the recently-released extended edition than the theatrical version. A tweet he wrote said, "Friends don't watch the theatrical cut," which almost sounded like he was slamming the theatrical version of his movie.
Dominion's extended version is now available in stores and online. It includes "The Prologue", which Trevorrow admitted he was "heartbroken" to lose.
In some instances, longer versions of epic movies like Jurassic Park allow for more context and allow the director's vision to shine through. For the theatrical release of Dominion, Trevorrow is likely to be asked to keep it under two and a half hours. However, an extended version may enhance the experience of the Jurassic World Dominion ending.
It will include both the theatrical and extended versions of Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom along with a short film directed by Colin Trevorrow, Battle At Big Rock, which takes place one year after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Additionally, there is a VFX featurette titled "A New Breed of VFX," as well as interviews and behind-the-scenes material with the cast and filmmakers.
Dominion is the third highest-grossing film of 2022 behind Top Gun: Maverick, which recently surpassed Titanic as Paramount's highest-performing domestic release, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
