The Marvel Cinematic Universe Phases 5 and 6: We Answer All Your Questions

During San Diego Comic-Con in late July, revealed not only footage from upcoming movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but also its entire slate of TV shows and movies. If you’re a casual cinemagoer with just a passing interest in superhero movies, Marvel’s announcements can feel overwhelming.

We are here to assist you. Marvel will launch a million films and TV shows over the next few years, so here are some answers to your questions.

The Multiverse Saga: What is it?

The company also revealed the title of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tale spanning phases 4 to 6 — Avengers: will release on May 2, 2025, and Avengers: Secret Wars will release on Nov. 7, 2025. It is called The Multiverse Saga. Is that what you mean?

There’s no doubt that Marvel’s release schedule is very phased. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the first phase began with Iron Man, and the third phase ended with Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The Infinity Saga is the name Marvel used for the first three phases of its Marvel Cinematic Universe stories.

In phase 4 through phase 6, Marvel features movies and TV shows called the Multiverse Saga. Hopefully, it will end with upcoming phase 6 movies such as Avengers: Secret Wars, which will include Black Widow and Shang-Chi.

Kang, who is he?

During Phases 5 and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kang will be a huge focus in Marvel movies. This year, he will be making his film debut in and : Quantumania. His name is in the title of the next Avengers movie, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty!

With Kang playing a time traveler with multiple aliases in different Marvel universes, expect this to play into the whole multiverse aspect of movies and shows in The Multiverse Saga. An interesting fact: Kang has already appeared in a Marvel show. The alternate version of He Who Remains appeared in the Loki finale back in July 2021.

The Secret Wars: what are they?

Almost certainly, Avengers: Secret Wars will be based on The Secret Wars, a 12-issue crossover series of Marvel comics released between 1984 and 1985. As well as individual heroes such as Spider-Man, it featured heroes from the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. It is fair to say that everyone was involved in the secret wars. The series featured villains such as Doctor Doom and — yep — Kang.

This implies Avengers: Secret Wars will tie into other Marvel Phase 6 movies, such as the Fantastic Four movie. It is scheduled for release on Nov. 8, 2024, before the two Avengers movies, which will be released in 2025.

However, there is a second Secret Wars comic book series, which was released in 2015. Every MCU movie is unique, but most likely the upcoming movies will feature elements from all of these comics. In the MCU’s current form, some people believe the more recent Secret Wars series is better suited for adaptation.

Fantastic Four: what’s going on?

Only the Fantastic Four and the two Avengers movies have been announced so far as part of Phase 6. It is scheduled for release on Nov. 8, 2024, and could set the stage for the Avengers movies.

It has not yet been announced who will play the role or who will direct the movie, but fans suspect John will play it. We think that’s a good idea. As Reed Richards, leader of the Fantastic Four, Krasinski made a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

So far, what is the schedule for Phase 5 and Phase 6 releases?

The caveat on this list is that there are some unannounced movies with dates, but no names… as well as some announcements with names but no dates! There are plans for Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy working together.

It’s also known that Armor Wars, a TV series starring Don Cheadle, is on its way, but no date has been set. Phase 6 also offers slots for Marvel movies that have not yet been named. The first is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2025, and the second is for July 25, 2025. A list of films and TV shows follows:

How soon can we expect to hear more?
Hopefully, Marvel’s plans will be revealed at this year’s D23 fan expo, which takes place from Sept. 9-11. An official Disney expo dubbed the “ultimate Disney fan event”, D23 is where multiple major announcements are made and new trailers are released.

There are no tickets left for the event, but it will be streamed live. As well as information on all Disney and Star Wars content, we expect to hear much more about upcoming Marvel projects at the event.
