Queen Elizabeth II lived by her words; sacrificed life for the betterment

September 6 marked the final Royal engagement of II in her Balmoral Castle in Scotland as she appointed the new Prime Minister, , before passing away on September 8. 

The Queen lived by her words

In 1947 during her 21st birthday, the late Queen and then Princess Elizabeth appeared on the radio and promised to the people of Britain and its associated nations by taking a pledge. 

“my whole life, whether it be short or long, will be devoted to your service.” Over the years, the monarch did live her life and served as per her pledge. 

No such incident has ever recorded

As a part of the custom, the meeting between the newly appointed Prime Minister and the Queen always happens only at Buckingham Palace in London. However, this time, due to the Queen’s mobility issue, the meeting happened in her Scotland residence due to her inability to travel back to London. This is one such incident to ever happen in 70 years of her reign outside Buckingham Palace.

According to the Royal Family tradition, the Queen asks the newly appointed Prime Minister to form a government. Ms and her newly appointed cabinet Ministers were planned to be sworn in at the Privy Council meeting Wednesday. Unfortunately, the sworn-in got postponed due to the ill health of the Queen.  According to the statement released by the palace, 

“After a full day yesterday, Her Majesty has this afternoon accepted doctors’ advice to rest, this means that the Privy Council meeting that had been due to take place this evening will be rearranged.”

Queen’s mobility issue since 2021

Since October 2021, the Queen has been walking with a cane due to her mobility issues, and in November 2021, Queen decided not to attend Remembrance Day as she sprained her back.

From then on, her eldest son, , has been attending all the Royal Duties on her behalf. And her grandson, , has taken more responsibility and attended to all the duties as a senior Royal member.

The Queen died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, aged 96. The new Prime Minister Liz Truss, in her statement to BBC News, said, 

“Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. Our country has grown and flourished under her reign. Britain is the great country it is today because of her. Earlier this week, at 96, she remained determined to carry out her duties as she appointed me as her 15th prime minister.”

Condolences by world leaders

Condolences have been pouring in after Queen Elizabeth II’s demise across the globe, and world leaders are paying tribute to the late Queen. 

 It didn’t stop with World Leaders, as Hollywood actors like and J.K. Rowling have praised the Queen for dedicating their life to the country and their service.  

In 2015, the Queen officially surpassed the reign of her great-great-grandmother to become the British monarch with the longest reign in England. Queen Elizabeth stands as the second-longest reigning monarch in history, after France’s King Louis XIV, who ruled for 72 years and Queen Elizabeth for70 years.
