Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8 at age 96, and her funeral will be on September 19.
Prince Harry's military uniform stood out from those of his brother, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Andrew, as they all stood at Westminster Hall over Queen Elizabeth II's coffin before her funeral on Monday. During another senior royal vigil, the letters “ER” were on the shoulder of Prince William's uniform, and they were also on Prince Andrew's military uniform. “Elizabeth Regina” is what the letters stand for in Latin. After getting permission from King Charles III at the last minute, Prince Harry was finally able to wear his military uniform when Kensington Palace announced the surprise 15-minute vigil with the queen's grandchildren on Friday. “We don't know why the initials were taken off of Prince Harry's uniform, but I've heard that he was so upset about it that he almost didn't wear his uniform to the vigil,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.
The Duke of Sussex served in the British Army for ten years. He wore a Blues and Royals No. 1 Uniform, a KCVO Neck Order and Star, an Afghanistan Operational Service Medal, Golden, Diamond, and Platinum Jubilee medals, and Army Pilot Wings. Schofield added, “He almost wore his morning dress. Instead, I was told. I don't think that this is a personal attack on him, but unfortunately he thinks it is.” Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit their royal jobs and moved to the United States because, according to them, the British media was too nosy and treated their family in a racist way. Prince Harry might have just forgotten to wear the “ER” initials.

Prince Andrew, who lost his royal titles and patronages in 2022, was seen wearing the insignia, which makes the “mistake” even more questionable. After his friendship with the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein came to light, Andrew is no longer a senior working royal. Then, Virginia Giuffre accused the prince of sexual assault, and he was not allowed to use the “HRH” titles anymore. Even though it was said that only working royal family members would be allowed to wear military uniforms, the Duke of York was allowed to wear one on Friday night as he stood guard with King Charles III, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward as part of the King's BodyGuard to protect Her Majesty's coffin.
In attendance at Saturday's special vigil were Princess Anne's children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips; Prince Andrew's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie; and the children of Prince Edward, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn. Shannon Felton Spence told Fox News Digital, “I'm glad the king changed his mind.” “It's what you should do. The queen was immensely proud of Prince Harry's service as his granny and as his commander-in-chief.” Buckingham Palace is only letting people in the family who are still working and have military titles wear uniforms to the funeral. At the end of Her Majesty's funeral on Monday, there will be two minutes of silence. This will give the British people a chance to say goodbye to the late monarch.
