On the all-time box office chart, Top Gun: Maverick passes Titanic

: continues to perform well more than two months after it opened in theaters. Having recently passed The Avengers at the domestic box office, the film has now overtaken as the seventh-biggest domestic box office film ever with $662 million.

Paramount’s 110-year history of domestic box office records has also been broken by Top Gun: Maverick. With a domestic gross of $678 million, Top Gun: Maverick isn’t that far behind the sixth-highest grossing domestic release, Avengers: Infinity War.

It is currently ranked number one with $936 million, followed by Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, , and . Internationally, the Tom Cruise-starring film has also been doing well.

As of today, the movie has grossed $690 million internationally without being released in China or Russia. Box office revenue for the film currently stands at $1.3 billion. Not only is Top Gun: Maverick crushing it at the box office, but it has been getting rave reviews as well.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has an impressive 97% critics’ score and 99% audience score. Spencer Perry of ComicBook.com gave the movie a rating of 4.5 out of 5 and hailed it as “the rare sequel that surpasses the original in every aspect.” ‘Maverick’ Mitchell has been a Navy test pilot for more than thirty years and eschews any advancement in rank that would ground him.
