In Secret Invasion, based on one of the century’s most powerful Marvel Comics stories, Samuel L. Jackson, one of the most dependable performers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprises his role as Nick Fury.
In the comic book adaptation, Marvel’s heroes realize that many of their teammates and friends are sleeper spies from the Skrull extraterrestrial species who can alter their shape to resemble anyone.
The Skrulls were first seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Captain Marvel, which in a twist, revealed them to be a largely peaceful and kind bunch of extraterrestrial refugees.
However, in Secret Invasion, it appears that not all Skrulls are friendly and that some are hellbent on conquering the world. Nick Fury is the only one who can stop them.
Jackson isn’t the only star of the show; Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Ben Mendelsohn, who played one of Captain Marvel’s “nice” Skrulls, also appear. Below, you can watch the show’s first trailer, which was captured live at the D23 Expo.
Ben Mendelsohn plays the Skrull Talos in Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion,” while Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury, two characters who originally met in “Captain Marvel.”
Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, and Regé-Jean Page join them. A band of shape-shifting Skrulls that have been infiltrating Earth for years are featured in the crossover event series. Early in 2023, Secret Invasion is expected to make its Disney+ debut.
