Mariska said, ‘That is awesome, and it's kind of right, isn't it?'. She also explained, ‘I mean, I don't think I'll be marrying him any time soon, but I am kind of like his second wife' ‘Wife, therapist, sister, bestie, mother.'

The award is for lead actor in a comedy series where the two entertained the audience as they leaned in to kiss but pulled away before announcing the category's nominees as they blossom between their two onscreen characters.

Hargitay said that The Emmys bit came together so quickly and was effortless, given her close bond with Meloni. She said, ‘It was so fun to just create together with shorthand' she also added that the 2022 Emmys ‘felt like a party with a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a long time, but they are all sort of my favorites. Referring to Meloni, she said, ‘And I get to go with my best friend.'

Meloni added, ‘It's effortless, and it's weird, and I always look at it as some sort of gift,' Hargitay said. ‘So much of it has to do with our sense of humor, perspective, and our history,' ‘we are very lucky.
