Lifetime has added three-holiday movies to its lineup

Toni Braxton will serve as executive producer

Lifetime is stepping up its holiday movie game by creating three films for its 2022 slate.

Toni Braxton will executive produce the It’s a Wonderful Soap opera lineup. A Christmas Spark revolves around a widow (Seymour) who has lost her zest for life and has given up hope of finding true love again.

She reluctantly accepts the job of directing the town’s Christmas beauty contest and quickly falls for her lead character (Lando), the town’s most attractive man.

Which is distributed by Sony Pictures Television: Executive producers include Braxton, Stephen Bulka, and Jamie Goehring. Rhonda Baraka is the director, working from a script by Eirene Tran Donohue.

Kirk Franklin, the gospel singer, will also executive produce and star in his 2nd Lifelong holiday film, Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas. Naturi Naughton (Power, Power Book II: Ghost) and Luke James will star in the film (Star, The Chi). 

It’s about an estranged mother and daughter

 It’s about an emotionally distant mother and daughter (Naughton and Lorea Turner). They are caught in a winter storm and forced to seek refuge inside a congregation where church members are distraught over the discontinuation of their annual vacation concert.

The season’s spirit takes hold as Journee and Nia brave the wintry storm alongside the other churchgoers, such as Adam (Luke James), a good-looking youth pastor, and a celestial music teacher (Franklin). They inspire the mother and daughter to reconcile their differences.

Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas

Swirl Films and Big Dreams Entertainment produce Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas. Executive producers include Tracy “Twinkie” Byrd, Eric Tomosunas, Angela Plasschaert, Leslie Greif, and Alex Kerr. Talia Breon directs Tara Knight’s script.

On November 5

Jodie Sweetin’s movie Merry Swissmas will premiere on Lifetime. Tim Rozon (Schitt’s Creek) also appears. Alex (Sweetin) remembers Christmases with her best friend Beth (Mikaela Lily Davies) until Beth began dating Alex’s ex, Jesse (David Pinard).

Alex is looking forward to spending the holidays with her mother, Caroline (Jane Wheeler) because she has missed the last few Christmases with her family due to her demanding job as an engineer.
