Latest Exit from Saturday Night Live: Chris Redd leaving after five long seasons

Another “Saturday Night Live” veteran is leaving the long-running show. As reports indicated, comedian Chris Redd won't return for the show's 48th season, NBC announced Monday night. His leaving denotes the most recent exit during a bigger departure of enormous names that have left “SNL” lately.

Five-year journey came to an end

He began with the show in 2017 and won an Emmy Award in 2018 for Outstanding Unique Music and Verses for the melody “Come Back, Barack” on the show. Redd's comedy unique “Chris Redd: Why Am I Like This” on HBO Max comes in the future. He is supposed to star in the feature film “Cyber Monday,” in progress at Universal.

Redd, who depicted New York City Mayor Eric Adams on the show, is one of many cast individuals who are leaving the show before this season begins one month from now, including stars Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Kyle Mooney, Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseñor and Aristotle Athari.

Reason for the exit

Why dispose of him as of now? Why so late?
