Lady Gaga will take over the role of Harley Quinn from Margot Robbie

It was announced today that Lady Gaga will portray Harley Quinn in the movie ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’, in Spanish ‘Joker, madness for two’, starring Joaquin Phoenix, and scheduled to be released on April 10, 2014.

With Joaquin Phoenix debuting as the ‘Joker’ in 2019, he earned multiple awards, including the Oscar for Best Actor in 2020, so now it turns out that Lady Gaga will be his co-star.

According to the confirmation video posted on the singer’s social networks, both can be seen moving and dancing in slow motion for a few seconds, so the official appearance of this new Harley Quinn remains to be seen.

In this role, Lady Gaga will become only the second actress in history to play the girlfriend of ‘Joker’ in a live-action format. The role previously belonged to the Australian Margot Robbie, currently playing Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling.

In 2016, Margot Robbie played Harley Quinn in the movie ‘Suicide Squad’. Though the film didn’t get good reviews, Robbie’s character was an important part of it, which led to the release of her own movie, Birds of Prey, in 2020.

In addition, Lady Gaga is rumored to be the lead in ‘Joker: Folié a Deux, since Margot Robbie told Entertainment Weekly magazine in 2021 that she needed a break from playing Harley Quinn, as “it is exhausting.” She also mentioned that future projects were unknown to her.
