Ian Harding announced that he had become a father one month after his Pretty Little Liars character, Ezra Fitz, adopted a baby in the show's spin-off series.

Ian Harding shared the first picture of his child on Instagram to let people know that he is now a dad. On September 16, he wrote, “Thanks for the birthday wishes, folks.” “I'm thankful for a lot of things this past year, but the best early birthday present I could have asked for is you.”

The pretty Little Liars star secretly married Sophie Hart two years earlier.

Ian, who turned 36 on the same day as the photo was taken, can be seen holding his baby's tiny hand, with the baby's fingers wrapped around his thumb, and wearing cute pajamas with zebra prints. In the post, neither the child's name nor sex was given. An insider told E! News in 2021 that the Pretty Little Liars star had secretly married his longtime girlfriend, Sophie Hart, almost two years before. The wedding took place in October 2019. The actor showed off a ring on his left hand in an Instagram post a few days before the news of the wedding broke. He wrote in the captions, “Back in L.A. and living the good life (sleeping in trees and baskets, for example).”

They never stated they were engaged before marrying.

Sophie is a photographer and set designer in Los Angeles. She and Ian have been together since 2011. Before they got married, they never said they were engaged. Ian's new baby comes two months after the first episode of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin on HBO Max. In the season finale of the spin-off series, Ian's character Ezra Fitz and his wife Aria Montgomery (Lucy Hale), who doesn't appear on screen, adopt a baby from Imogen Adams (Bailee Madison).
