Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids can inherit the Royal Titles after the Queen’s death

After Harry and stepped down from their Royal duties in 2020, they both gave up on their respective titles. But their kids , three and , one, are now called Prince and Princess, respectively, following the death of II.

to be passed to grandkids

This effect came right after Queen Elizabeth II’s demise, and his eldest son Charles has now inherited the throne as King Charles III.

’s great-great-grandfather King George V established rules in 1917 that allowed royal titles to be conferred to the sovereign’s sons (a.k.a. their grandchildren descended from males). Harry’s were the Queen’s great-grandchildren throughout her rule. As a result, Harry’s children now qualify since they are the monarch’s legal grandchildren due to King Charles ascending to the throne.

The new rule brought titles to the kids

Children of the king and the oldest son of the sovereign’s eldest son were also given royal titles during the 1917 rule.

Ten years ago, in 2012, a new rule was brought by Queen Elizabeth II that any children of the Prince of Wales’s eldest son are entitled to receive the royal titles, and that is the reason Prince William’s kids are called and while the Queen was still alive.

Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids are entitled to use the Royal Titles; still, it is unsure whether they will use these titles.

Meghan Markle spoke

“They were saying they didn’t want him to be a prince…which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn’t going to receive security,”

Meghan was pregnant with his son Archie and also said about how dark her skin would be when he was born with a title given, and no security could be unsafe for Archie, so Meghan did not want Archie to have a title, which she explained in  Oprah Winfrey’s show.

Currently, Harry is fifth in line for the throne, with the passing of the Queen, while Archie and Lilibet Diana are sixth and seventh, respectively.
