The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is an action-comedy featuring Hollywood star Nicolas Cage playing a fictionalized version of himself. In a recent interview, director Tom Gormican explained what intrigued him to imagine the life of the Hollywood legend that Cage would lead in an alternate universe.
The actor Tom said, “Nick has transcended being an actor. He has become a cultural figure. As culture becomes stranger and stranger, and fashion choices get more bizarre, you can trace it directly to Nicolas Cage, the patron saint of strangeness. Seeing his face makes people happy. This made me want to find out more about Nick.”
After being released in theatres in March, the film is headed for digital distribution. Director Tom Gormican said, “We wanted to make clear that the film would be an homage to Nicolas Cage’s work, which encompassed so many genres just as his work did.
“Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”, starring Pedro Pascal, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish, will be available on the OTT platform Lionsgate Play starting August 12.
