This year’s BFI London Film Festival concludes with Rian Johnson’s ” Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery “, which stars Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline In addition to its Toronto premiere, the film will have its European premiere at the festival on Oct. 16, ahead of its U.K. release and subsequent Netflix launch.
Johnson, Craig, Norton, Monáe, Odom Jr., Hudson, and Cline are expected to attend. In this sequel to Johnson’s hit “Knives Out,” Craig reprises the role of detective Benoit Blanc in a mystery that involves a new cast of colorful suspects. Under the T-Street banner, Johnson and Ram Bergman produced both films.
U.K. cinemas will also hold simultaneous preview screenings of the film. Johnson added: “I’m thrilled to be returning to LFF with ‘Glass Onion,’ and it’s an honor to be closing it.” “This is a proper whodunnit that belongs in London, so it feels a bit like coming home.”
According to Tricia Tuttle, director of BFI London Film Festival: “Rian Johnson’s Knives Out was a major hit when we hosted its European premiere at the Festival in 2019. Audiences enjoyed the film’s wit and how it paid tribute to the British tradition of onscreen detectives.
In this film, Rian Johnson once again strikes gold with an ensemble cast that is one of the hottest this year. In the same way as its predecessor, ‘Glass Onion’ is both entertaining and culturally literate, making some hilarious observations about the world around us. At the closing gala of the 66th BFI London Film Festival, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ will bring the house down.”
