This year’s Strictly Come, Dancing contestant, Will Mellor has been announced as the first. Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Casualty, and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps are some of the shows in which the actor has appeared. Taking part in Strictly Come Dancing gives Mellor the feeling of being “honestly so chuffed.”
A new season of the BBC One dancing competition is set to begin in September.”This is getting more and more frightening,” Mellor told BBC Breakfast on Thursday morning after being announced as the first celebrity participant.
‘I’ve got to grab life’
Asked if he could dance well, he replied, “Well, it depends on what you mean. I dance in the kitchen or at parties like most people, but nothing like I am here, I am way out of my comfort zone.”
Several months ago, he told us, his mindset changed completely, and he realized he had to start doing things he wasn’t comfortable with.
“In 2020, my dad passed away and since then I am determined to live life to the fullest. I must create new memories.”It took Mellor five weeks to reach the top of the UK singles chart with When I Need You in 1998. A live version of the podcast he hosts with Ralf Little, Two Pints with Will and Ralf, toured the UK recently.
As part of this year’s Strictly judging panel, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Shirley Ballas will all return. Having taken over from Bruno Tonioli permanently, Anton Du Beke will once again join them. It will be announced on BBC Breakfast later on Thursday morning who the second contestant will be.
