The second installment of The Vow will focus on the co-founder of NXIVM Keith Raniere’s federal prosecution and the failing organization that surrounded him. In The Vow Part Two, which premieres on HBO on October 17, the demise of the NXIVM cult, which Raniere co-founded, is extensively explored.

A self-improvement group to its members, NXIVM had a criminal underbelly that was revealed in the first season of The Vow, which debuted in August 2020. Raniere was found guilty of crimes like racketeering, sex trafficking, conspiracy to use forced labor, identity theft, and the creation and possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty and declined to give a witness in the case.

Raniere received a 120-year prison term in October 2020. The Vow Part Two, which is set against the backdrop of Keith Raniere’s federal trial by The United States against him, “offers an exclusive peek into Raniere’s innermost circle, including NXIVM co-founder Nancy Salzman,” according to HBO.

As fresh information and astounding disclosures are made public, it follows the founders, sympathizers, and defectors of the organization on their legal and emotional journeys. Salzman makes an effort to present her side of the story after being given a 3.5-year prison term in 2021 for her participation in NXIVM.

In the docuseries’ teaser, she adds, Imagine you spent 22 years trying to construct something, but everyone believes it’s the devil’s work. It extends past Salzman as well. The teaser for The Vow Part Two quotes one of Raniere’s followers as saying, Keith is very close to me and I know he’s innocent, illustrating how some of his supporters still adhere to the NXIVM philosophy.
