During the reunion special, Brandy considers the impact of Cinderella

Brandy remembers how precious the role was to her in the Disney Cinderella Reunion Special. 

She brought the princess to life in the Rodgers and Hammerstein show

Fans of the extended cast, who are millennials, enjoyed seeing them again. Many people had the opportunity to view themselves for the first time in that position. 

“When I was a little kid, I wanted to be a singer, start my own band, and get to know Whitney Houston. There it was “Brandy clarified. “I had no clue that I would end up playing a part similar to Cinderella or that I would be the first person of color to do so.

Admiring the movie

The special’s executive producer, Debra Martin Chase, also mentioned Houston’s admiration for the movie, saying, “It was one of the things she was most proud of in her career.” She “completely recognized the worth, relevance, and importance of having a Black Cinderella.”

Imogen Lloyd Webber, SVP at Concord Theatricals, spoke on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization and stated, “We’re thrilled that the 25th anniversary of this historic adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is being recognized on its native network.”

“Rodgers & Hammerstein’s legendary soundtrack is genuinely timeless — enthralling listeners 80 years after the beginning of their relationship and 65 years after their Cinderella initially enchanted the largest audience in television history,”

This Cinderella description was published on Disney+. “The exclusive Disney+ streaming of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will start at midnight on Friday, February 12. Brandy plays the lead in the well-liked televised musical, which also stars Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Natalie Desselle Reid, Bernadette Peters, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander, and Veanne Cox. Whitney Houston plays the “Fairy Godmother.”
