Members and partners of the LGBTQ community met up after a Philadelphia drag queen and transgender woman startlingly passed on mid-execution at a well-known gay bar in the city.
Valencia Prime, a 25-year-old transgender woman who proceeded as a drag queen and named herself “Philadelphia’s Plus Size Dancing Diva,” passed on Monday night after she fell in front of an audience while performing at Tabu.
Valencia Prime was performing at Tabu Lounge and Sports bar on Monday, Sept. 12, when she abruptly imploded in front of an audience, bar proprietor Jeffrey Scotland told NBC News. Her reason for death was not promptly known.
“Today we grieve for the departure of an extremely splendid and rising star in the presentation community and an individual who was in every case loaded with affection and energy,” the scene said in an explanation via online entertainment. “We express farewell to Valencia Prime; however we won’t fail to remember the light you brought to the stage.”
Accolades from different entertainers poured in after the news spread. Prime, a transgender woman, had named herself “Philadelphia’s plus-size dancing diva.”
“This community has endured such a lot of misfortune over the most recent couple of years. Valencia Prime was an ability and a wonderful individual. Rest in peace, darling,” Timaree Leigh, a sexuality teacher and vaudeville entertainer, tweeted.
Drag queen Brittany Lynn, whose real name is Ian Morrison, likewise shared a message in Prime’s honor. Drag performer Aloe Vera, whose real name is Anthony Veltre, frequently performed close by Prime, shared a sympathy message for her passing.
Prime’s mother, Christiana Marcus-McRae, likewise affirmed her little girl’s abrupt demise on Facebook. “25 yrs prior, Apr. 2 at 7:58pm, I brought forth my second kid and today, I’m making memorial service courses of action,” she composed.
Since the news about the entertainer’s passing down and out, a GoFundMe page was launched, bringing more than $10,500 up in only two days. “We would cherish for the community to assist her mom and the remainder of her family with giving her the legitimate commemoration we realize she merits,” peruses the fundraiser launched by Nikita.
Nikita Sinnn Monroe, who coordinated the GoFundMe fundraiser, said Prime was initially from Delran, New Jersey, living in Philadelphia. Per Prime’s Facebook page, she moved from Delran Secondary School in 2015 and later went to Rowan School in Burlington Area in New Jersey and Sanctuary College in Philadelphia.
