Disney Plus and Hulu have now added Prey to their streaming offerings, the horror prequel to the famous Predator franchise. The highly anticipated and now critically acclaimed origin story of the iconic murderous alien from the ’80s can now be viewed from the comfort of your own home.

A fifth Predator film, Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who is best known for his thriller movie 10 Cloverfield Lane. Taking place 300 years before the events in the first movie, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger was fighting for his life, the prequel has been praised for its unique approach and fresh storyline.

Currently, the film holds an audience and critics’ 91% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating their delight in the horror. Anthony McGlynn termed this film as the second-best in the franchise, only behind 1987 original, in our Prey review, and called it “astonishingly well-shot.”

As described in the official synopsis, Prey takes place in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago during 1719 and follows Naru. Naru is a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised among some of the greatest hunters in history. So when danger threatens her camp, she protects her people.
