Carl Lentz, an ex-Hillsong pastor, says his family is ‘together’ after a ‘challenging road’

Carl Lentz thinks good things will happen in the future. The former Hillsong Church pastor shared his first post on Instagram since he was fired from the church in November 2020. He had previously admitted that he had been unfaithful to his wife, Laura.

“It’s been a hard road, but we’re alive, we’re at peace, and by the grace of God, we’re TOGETHER,” Lentz, 43, wrote as the caption for a series of black-and-white photos of himself, his wife Laura, and their three kids, Ava, Roman, and Charlie.

He added, “We don’t know what the future holds for us, but we do know that we will face it as a family, and I am so grateful for that. Thank you so much to all of our friends and family who have shown us so much love and grace when we needed it the most. We’ll always be thankful, and we’re excited about what’s to come!”

Silent in public and concentrated on family

Laura, whom he married in 2003, shared the photo on her own Instagram and told her followers what was going on with their family. “Yes, it’s been hard, and hell yeah, it’s taken a lot of work over the past 22 months (but who’s counting? ),” she said. “But we will never stop working on ourselves, for this marriage and for our kids.”

“Working very hard” for the Family

Lentz was fired from Hillsong on November 4, 2020. The next day, he took “full responsibility” for what he had done and said he had been unfaithful to his wife. In an interview with Vanity Fair about two weeks later, a woman named Ranin Karim said she was his mistress.

Even though he cheated on her, a source told the channel at the time that the couple was “working very hard” to make their marriage work and that Laura “has stood by his side” during the trouble. Laura spoke out for the first time since her husband was caught cheating on her on their wedding anniversary in May of last year.

In December 2020, someone close to Lentz told the channel that he was “getting help at an outpatient facility that specialises in depression, anxiety, and pastoral burnout.” According to a 2015 GQ profile, Lentz is known for hanging out with celebrities.
