All-inclusive, Olivia Wilde, Harry Styles, and Florence Pugh? Concerns Don’t Panic

Michael, I can’t open a new tab without seeing one or more of the names below: Florence Pugh. Olivia Wilde. Shia LaBeouf is an actor. Harry Styles is his name. I’m not sure how to start telling this story. What’s happening?

Steph, welcome to your crash course on the movie they are (or were) all in, which, despite being called “Don’t Worry, Darling,” has had a lot of worrying. Olivia Wilde, known for her role in the movie “Booksmart” and for breaking up with her fiance to date Harry Styles, directed it. 

It has caused a lot of trouble over the past few months, but let’s start with the most recent event: Don’t Worry Darling will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Monday, but Florence Pugh, who stars in the movie with Styles, won’t be at a press conference before the screening.

Pugh’s flight from Budapest

Pugh’s flight from Budapest, where she is filming the Dune sequel, doesn’t land until the conference ends. Of course, it could also be a complicated way to avoid discussing a movie you (hypothetically) didn’t like making and don’t want to promote. So let’s go back to 2020 when they first made the movie. 

Shia LaBeouf was first chosen to play Styles’ part, which was that of a company man who lives with his wife (Pugh) in a Stepford-like town and whose life starts to fall apart when shady things happen at work.

LaBeouf and Wilde quickly stopped getting along and replaced him in the role. In an interview with Variety last month, Wilde said, “His process did not fit with the way I want my productions to be.” He has a method that, in some ways, seems to require a fighting spirit. It is my job to protect the production and the actors.”

But then things got more complicated. LaBeouf sent back his receipts and said he was the one who quit. Pugh was caught in the middle of the “he said/she said” fight. In one video LaBeouf sent to Variety, Wilde hints that she had problems on set. She says, “This might be a wake-up call for Miss Flo.” “What do you think if she commits, puts her mind and heart into it, and if you guys can make peace? Is there any chance?

Fiance Jason Sudeikis

The whole scandalous situation is made worse by the other scandal on set. Most people agree that after Wilde broke up with her fiance Jason Sudeikis in November 2020, she met Styles while filming Don’t Worry Darling. Two months later, they were seen holding hands.

In July this year, a source told Page Six, “Flo was not happy to see Olivia and Harry all over each other on set.” We all know that the line “a source told Page Six” doesn’t mean much, and other sources have denied that Wilde and Styles’ growing relationship was ever a problem.
