A new movie starring Chris Evans and Ana De Armas will break a major trend

Chris Evans and Ana de Armas will show a new dynamic in Ghosted after portraying enemies in their previous collaborations. Evans and Armas first appeared together in Rian Johnson’s hit 2019 murder mystery Knives Out, in which Armas played the nurse of Evans’ grandfather.

The two actors reunited once again for Netflix’s action film The Gray Man in 2022, in which Armas portrayed a sympathetic CIA agent and Evans portrayed a sociopathic mercenary.

Next, the A-list stars will be seen together in another action-packed story, Ghosted, for Apple TV+. The plot of Ghosted has not yet been disclosed, but the film is characterized as a romantic adventure film starring Ana de Armas and Chris Evans.

Sadie, Weapons’ character in Ghosted, was originally cast with Evans’ frequent collaborator Scarlett Johansson. However, the actress reportedly opted out of the production due to scheduling conflicts.

Ana de Armas and Chris Evans’ characters in Dexter Fletcher’s Ghosted have not yet been revealed, however, the romantic adventure genre suggests the actors will finally be working together in the film. Previously, the Armas and Evans collaborations had been based on opposing characters, with Armas portraying a hero and Evans portraying a villain.

This collaboration ends that trend. Rather than Armas playing a character that must stop Evans’ murderous rampage, Ghosted has both actors playing opposite roles.

As audiences are now accustomed to seeing Evans and Armas as enemies, presenting them as allies in Ghosted will be a refreshing change.

Throughout Knives Out, Evans’ character feigned innocence to Armas’ protagonist to show what a collaborative adventure might entail. There is, however, a possibility that Ghosted will realize this long-teased relationship shortly.

Armas and Evans have already displayed compelling chemistry when portrayed as enemies, so turning their animosity into a love story will certainly add to Ghosted’s allure. Chris Evans and Ana de Armas will also spend the majority of their time in Ghosted acting opposite one another for the first time in a Chris Evans and Ana de Armas collaboration.

It is worth mentioning that Armas and Evans only shared a few scenes after the first half of Knives Out, but they were certainly memorable interactions between the two actors. Similar to The Gray Man, Armas is seldom seen together with Gosling in the action thriller, with most of his time spent with him.

It has been teasing the chemistry between Ana de Armas and Chris Evans for so long that Ghosted finally utilizes their shared appeal to its full potential.
