Jumanji: The Next Level has yet to get a sequel, but Karen Gillan assures fans that it will happen. Gillan told one fan there would be a third Jumanji movie, but that it would take a while for the cast to be available.
In an Instagram story posted yesterday (August 10), she responded: “Thank you! I believe there will be another film, I am not sure when. It’s hard to get everyone’s schedules in sync! But we are all very excited to make another one.”
This is technically the fourth installment in the series that began with the 1995 Robin Williams film, starring Gillan along with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black. During a January interview, Hiram Garcia, President of Seven Bucks Productions, discussed the new film’s progress.
In his words, “It’s going to happen.”. “We just talked about our pitch for the third Jumanji movie last night. We’re approaching Sony shortly.” However, that movie will happen. It will take place after Red One, but that timing actually works out great since all the actors are already scheduled anyway.”
“All the actors are incredibly busy, so the timing is going to work out perfectly, but we have a great idea for the movie we’re about to pitch, so we’ll likely have a script soon.” In Thor: Love and Thunder, Gillan reprised the role of Nebula and will do so again in a Disney+ holiday special in December and a Guardians of the Galaxy movie next year.
The actress hinted in May that the third installment of the Marvel series would be Nebula’s last. Her Instagram post after filming wrapped said, “I don’t know if Nebula will return beyond this, it may be her last chapter.” If that’s the case, I just want to say thank you to @jamesgunn for giving me such a complex and fascinating character to play..”
