A Netflix reboot of The Addams Family to star Johnny Depp?

Another reason for Johnny Depp fans to rejoice might be on the way. With the actor making his comeback, rumors have sprung up about a Netflix appearance. In addition, there has been gossip about the streaming service’s upcoming reboot of The Addams Family.

So when Burton announced he would direct a series for Netflix, rumors swirled that Depp would star.

However, Grazia noted that the trailer for The Addams Family remake still leaves fans guessing. Wednesday is the name Netflix chose for the reboot of The Addams Family. As the name change suggests, Wednesday Addams is at the center of the remake. She plays a teenager who decides to choose darkness over popularity.

Streaming service Netflix found the perfect Morticia Jones in Catherine-Zeta Jones. Even though Netflix revealed the names of Luiz Guzman as Gomez and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, someone special remains unknown. Rumors suggest Johnny Depp is Uncle Fester’s secret casting choice.

The publicity posters have also eliminated any clues about who will portray Uncle Fester. Showrunner Alfred Goughrather declined to give any hints in interviews. Instead, he said, “We don’t have any comments about Uncle Fester.”. I suggest you watch the show.”

One source, however, provided a clue. A Netflix insider noted that “extraordinary measures were taken to protect the identity of Uncle Fester on the latest Netflix offering.” According to rumors, the first edits show Tim Burton was right to fight for his casting. Fans suspect Depp will play that role in response to Burton’s mention. 

In addition to Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, and Alice in Wonderland, he directed and starred in Sleepy Hollow. “A sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery,” Netflix describes the series, which follows Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy. The teen struggles with “mastering her emerging psychic ability.”

Also, she must “thwart a monstrous killing spree that terrorizes the local town.” And, there is a murder mystery that involved her parents 25 hours ago. That sounds like an incredibly twisted experience. Although a premiere date has not been announced, it is reportedly set for autumn before Halloween.
