A statement from Stevenson said: “I’ve been inspired and helped by many actors, directors, and crew members, and I hope to have done the same for newcomers.” Every team is only as good as its members. The opportunity to make a film about these remarkable people has been an amazing experience in my life.”
Throughout his career, Stevenson has garnered over 200 credits. Among his recent works is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Ant-Man and the Wasp. The BAFTA award for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema was given to him by Sir Michael Caine in 2003.
Freida Films founder and director Amelia O’Loughlin added: “It is a pleasure telling the story of an iconic industry icon like Michael. An extraordinary story is told by his unique career, charismatic personality, and love of cinema. The film industry has changed greatly over the past six decades, but Michael reminds us that passion for film and kindness to your team will always go a long way.”
He continued, “This film will be a marvelous celebration of 20th and 21st Century cinema, a tribute to the trailblazing filmmakers of the past and the pioneers of the present.”. “I am delighted to be working with an excellent team of female creatives to bring this project to life.” It will be the fifth film produced by Freida Films since founder O’Loughlin founded it.
