The custody battle between Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis ended after a judge rejected their petition to live in Brooklyn, New York, according to a report. Page Six reported that a judge stipulated on August 5 that California will be their kids’ home state.
This follows the actor’s motion, filed in October 2021, asking for the children to move to New York with him – five-year-old Daisy and eight-year-old Otis. Wilde and Sudeikis have been co-parenting their kids and living between Los Angeles, London, and New York since splitting and calling off their engagement in 2020.
Currently, Wilde and her children live in Los Angeles and, according to the court papers, plan to “relocate to London after school closes in 2023”. This verdict follows Wilde’s accusation that Sudeikis had “threatened” her after she was served with legal papers during a CinemaCon presentation for her upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling.
Daily Mail obtained court documents in which Wilde discussed the incident. The documents state that Jason’s actions were intended to threaten her and catch her off guard. I could have had him serve me discreetly, but instead, he chose the most aggressive method.
“In an effort to protect our children’s best interests, Jason should not embarrass me professionally and publicize our personal conflict in this way.” Sudeikis’ rep claimed (via Page Six) that the actor was unaware of the time or place where the envelope was delivered and that he “would never condone her being treated in such a manner”.
Harry Styles appears in Wilde’s next film Don’t Worry Darling along with Florence Pugh and Gemma Chan, and she confirmed their relationship in January 2021. There is a scheduled release date of September 23, 2022, for the film. As part of his work on the third season of the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, Sudeikis has been filming in London in recent months.
