The couple went live on on August 22 and informed their followers that Jon Walters’ visa had been denied, for they had waited for three years to attend the Visa interview.

The denial of the visa was due to his past criminal charges. He explained that he went to the embassy with all paperwork done and thought he would get a chance to beg their pardon for a visa. The guy at the embassy said,  ‘Unfortunately, I don’t have the authority to give a visa to anyone with a criminal conviction.”

Planned for visa waiver

The couple did not stop there, as they had plan B to execute. The embassy indicated that they would be able to request a waiver from another department, providing him with an additional chance to have someone review his application.

Jon and Rachael were smart enough to pay the attorney and prepared his waiver application, and from there on, they began obtaining his waiver as soon as they responded negatively.

Done with the waiver application

Rachel was already prepared for this waiver, and she filed the waiver in advance through her lawyer. This waiver is done not just to ask for forgiveness but it’s a request to lift the first refusal on the visa.

Rachael lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her daughter Lucy. And only in the mid of August did they file for the waiver.

Jon and Rachael’s next move

They both have to wait for another six to nine months until they receive a visa waiver response. It will take two to four weeks to confirm that the visa waiver was accepted. Rachel claimed that the procedure was moving more quickly than she had anticipated and that she had already gotten a letter of acknowledgment for it.

This visa waiver is an expensive process as the waiver application over 200 pages alone costs $930 in filing fees, with separate legal fees.   Since the Coronavirus epidemic broke out in January 2020, the couple hasn’t spoken to one another. Jon’s waiver should be accepted, and perhaps his spousal visa will also be approved.
